Cartwright Hall & Bankfield Museum 18th June 2026
Our June trip is a visit to Cartwright Hall which is a gallery in Lister Park, Bradford where the Antiques Roadshow was held last year as part of Bradford’s City of Culture.
It will be a self guided visit without a Curator talk. ( If a talk can be arranged, we will pay on the day).
Their artworks include works by Francisco Goya, William Blake and Walter Sickert as well as modern masters like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, L S Lowry and Anish Kapoor. The current exhibitions are Jim Moir’s Neo Fauna (not the same one we saw at Lady Lever last year) and (Un) Layering the Future Past of South Asia.
Refreshments can be purchased from their small cafe though you might also consider taking a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park.
From there we will travel to Bankfield Museum in Ackroyd Park, Halifax. Their displays cover local history, costume, art, toys, military history, jewellery and textiles from around the world.
There is a small cafe but more in the way of snacks, tea/coffee and cake.
The £20.00 cost is just for coach travel and tip. This takes into account the current rise in petrol.
