Erddig Hall, a late 17th-century country house saved from dereliction in the 1970s by the National Trust.

Beyond the house itself, Erddig's gardens are a highlight not to be missed. Spanning over 12 acres, the gardens are a blend of formal and informal styles, meticulously maintained to reflect their historical design. The walled garden is one of the finest in Britain, featuring a stunning array of flowers, fruits (120 apple trees) and vegetables, as well as intricately clipped topiary and serene water features. The parkland surrounding Erddig Hall offers picturesque walking trails that lead through ancient woodland and open meadows giving the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the Welsh countryside and wildlife. The walled garden is one of the most important surviving 18th century gardens in Britain and probably the biggest. There are various gardens spaces within the garden but the largest space is dominated by a wide canal which leads up to the house. This canal is bordered by an extensive wildflower area with many species including orchids. It is also home to one of the longest herbaceous borders you will see and this is a riot of colour in the summer.  There is a lovely rose border where roses climb intermingled with clematis. Topiary is a feature of this property and comes in all shapes and sizes.

Facilities include Restaurant, opportunities to shop and toilets. The ground floor, restaurant and gardens are easily accessible with two short flights of steps in the gardens.
